Surviving the MCAT

Hi. I'm new to the community and I'm preparing to take the MCAT. I'm studying by using the Research and Education Association's (REA) MCAT Prep Book. However, I learned that what's offered in prep books is usually convoluted and full of filler. So, since I'm more of a visual learner, I was wondering if anyone knows of any websites that offer free video tutorials? I'm aware that MCAT-prep.com offers a limited amount to those who don't register with them. Unfortunately, I'm a little tight on money at the moment and I was wondering if there are any alternatives.

Have you tried AAMC's free practice test?

Hi valerian,

As a researcher into MCAT test prep, I think a great option is to download AAMC's free test at e-mcat.com (if you haven't done so already). Then you can go through each Q&A of an actual previous MCAT and look for your strengths and weaknesses. There'd be no filler and no expense with this approach.

While there are many free resources, I recommend sticking with a main book/program to manage your study plan for the MCAT.

I hope this helps.
